And here´s to an anime that´s totally not Attack On Titan. No, no it´s really not Attack On Titan, and it´s really not made by the same studio or somethi – what? no, of course it´s not about an angry tween hating everything and everyone because his family got eaten infront of him. Walls? of course not! here we just have to cross the giant walls where the last 20% of humanity is kept after getting devoured. Hey, at least here Eren makes it out alive!
All repetitive jokes aside, holy shit, this really is Attack On Titan: The Vampire Edition and I love every second of it – yeah, you´ve read it right, Owari No Seraph is easily in the top 5 or even top 3 of the season for now, just because it´s so damn enjoyable and deliciously anime.
Watching Owari No Seraph reminded me of good ol´ noob anime days, the days where everything just seemed awesome, even though it was probably the edgiest thing around – I appreciate that, and I appreciate Eren Jaegars anger, and his bromance with Armin, and the metrosexual vampires, and the (un)necessary highschool, and the great revenge plot we all love; Owari No Seraph turns bad into good, and I have to applaud WIT Studios for achieving this.
But really, I do applaud WIT, after commiting not one, but two faux pas with that one comedy show no one but Japan liked and the sweet mess that was Rolling Girls, WIT goes back to adapting perfect gateway material, giving it the best animation possible. Except for that one CGI walking cycle.
So, how will this go on? I think it´ll stay as slick and cliché, if anyhing, it´s just balls of inmature angsty fun. Cheers.
