The Rigtheous Three-Episode-Rule Of Doom Winter 2015 “First” Impressions: Death Parade.

Among the obligatory hypiest anime of the season list that was mostly filled with sequels, there was a certain show that caught everyones attention. Standing up for Madhouse after producing the disastrous Mahouka and basically every other show – besides No Game No Life, maybe – in 2014, we have a full lenght series about a game of life, death, and everything inbetween. Yessur, Death Parade.

Who has seen the 2013 OVA Death Billards? If you haven´t I suggest you do so even with this series airing. I have said it on twitter and I´ll say it again, but I´m sort of shocked that a daring series like this is being produced with such a high budget.
With exactly no fanservice or anything you´d consider ´pandering´, Death Parade – so far – has been an interesting ride and is almost guaranteed to be my favourite anime of the season, probably.
Ya know it, I love it, wheter it´d be the animation, the storytelling or the lack of edgyness, Death Parade is a competent show about life and everything around it. Granted, episode 2 was a bit of an eyebrow raiser, but episode 3 quickly picked up its pace with a strangely relaxing episode of bittersweet love. Well played, Madhouse, well played.
