It was the moment when our female lead proved all the laws of physics wrong and, after some misunderstanding, dramatically and accidentally fell on our main character as they kissed in such an awkward fashion, I thought to myself;
“Oh. It’s gonna be this kind of anime.”
Madhouse proves yet again that an amazing studio can indeed fuck up, and Mahou Sensou is, for the time being, the ring-leader to their series of mishaps.
Alright, it might sound like I’m bashing this series a little too hard; I mean, I guess it’s not that bad, but it’s definitely not good either. I suspect it might get better when it decides on what path they’re gonna take, because three episodes in and it feels like a very bad romance drama that just happens to have magic and bad guys.
It’s mediocre, like Nobunagun but a little more enjoyable. I guess.
Music is meh. Animation is meh. Plot is kinda interesting but it hasn’t developed in the sligthest. Characters are stereotypes that play their role just fine; Think X-men but worse.
I will continue watching this however; ‘Cause it’s Madhouse and it’s still somewhat enjoyable while simuntaneously making me anticipate the epicness that will go down in further episodes. I think.
