The Rigtheous Three-Episode-Rule Of Doom. Summer 2014 “First” Impressions: Zankyo No Terror.

196

This is easily the fan favourite of the season, and it’s not difficult to see why: Zankyo No Terror brings back elements from classics such as Death Note and Code Geass, all while being wonderfully directed by the Shinichiro Watanabe and composed by Yoko Kano.

So what do I think of it? Well, I agree with everyone else: The story is solid, characters intriguing, music amazing and, boy, the animation.

I’m not sure where Watanabe and his team got the confidence from to animate this with the budget it has. It’s movie-quality good, except that this one delivers episode after episode, so, yeah, I do think Zankyo no Terror is the top-gun of this season, perhaps the year.

I can’t predict where this is going, but I assume it’s going on the Death Note Cat-And-Mouse route, how it’ll end will be nothing but a surprise.
