The Rigtheous Three-Episode-Rule Of Doom Spring 2015 “First” Impressions: Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches.

I feel like Kissing: The Animation would fit this show a lot better than Yamada kun And The Seven Witches, as the plot, comedy and shipping-feels come from just that – boys kissing boys, girls kissing girls, boys kissing girls, boys in girls body kissing boys, whatever your into,  Yamada-kun has got it all.

I´m biased. I´m really fucking biased. I was interested in the manga from the get-go, but when an anime adaptation was announced I decided to throw my social life away and binge watch the entire drama in a single day, the reason? I had a hangover and thought that´d be appropiate. After finishing (And falling head over heels in love) with the drama, I simply had to read the manga, and although slightly less ridiculous, I still loved reading up to chapter eighty-something.

So, after experiencing all three mediums this story presents itself in, how does the anime stand for now?

I´d say pretty damn good for the fans, and kind of meh if I had no idea what this show was about.

Yamada-kun is a feel good show for outcasts, similar to D-Frag – just with a lot more kissing. It´s not a harem, it´s barely a romance, it´s just a very entertaining and endearing show about a group of unlikely friends kissing eachother with the appropiate amount of drama, which is exactly the kind of thing I´m into.

If anything, Yamada-kun reminds me why I love anime – and I have no doubt this will be on my top 5 of the season while I hope for a season 2. Liden Films, you´ve stepped your game up.
