The Rigtheous Three-Episode-Rule Of Doom. Spring 2014 “First” Impressions. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei.

49

If this MADHOUSE’s attempt in correcting the horribad failure that was Mahou Sensou, I can say that with three episodes on my concious, they have succeeded.

Yeah, I didn’t expect myself to like this show either: It’s superficial, cliché and weird, but it’s the most anime show I’m watching: OP Main character, incest, magic, guns. And, for one reason or another, it works for me. Sure the incest is almost guaranteed to go absolutely nowhere and with 26 episodes this show can go under at any given moment, but for the time being, I’m enjoying the tranquility of Mahouka and accepting it with all it’s ridiculousness and flaws. Besides, the action looks just awesome.

  1. I’m enjoying this title too. It hasn’t got me waiting in anticipation but I find the magic of the world plus with the ‘weeds’ and ‘blooms’ scenario pretty interesting. As the show stands at the moment, with less focus on the siblings ‘romance’ and slightly more on the dynamics of magic and discrimination in the school, I’m still finding it a good watch. I agree that the action scenes are great and it’s brilliant to watch the methods that Tatsuya’s schemes up to handle his inferiority. If the focus switches to mainly the relationship the show might just bottom out, but we’ll have to wait and see. ^v^
