As it stands now, I prefer Ookami´s first episode over Ao Haru Ride´s first episode.
And it´s not because it´s any better, Hell, it´ll probably get really, really offensive and awful in a shoujo kind of way (judging by the opening which mainly consists in our heroine walking behind her prince like a total doofus and embarassing herself for him – just to end with her falling and having him lift her up while looking away, because that´s totally sugoi desu ne.) and maybe it´s because I have read the manga of Ao Haru Ride and not of Ookami Shoujo, but still.
The episode starts off with exactly all pheromones focused on our love interest Sata Kyouya and his bestfriend who looks like my latino uncle. Seriously.
On the contrast of their oozing perfection is Shinohara Erika, who prooves to be a total vain, lying dork. This vain, lying dork also gets late for class like all shoujo vain, lying dorks do and somehow, the entire class has already been split up in cliques in the 10 minutes she hasn´t been there.
Well, except for her to be not really friends. Two girls that wear make-up. Because all anime girls that wear make-up are total bitches.
Still, fast forward to Erika trying to impress her sex-loving peers, she has the fantastic idea of taking a picture of the next best hottie she can find, you guessed it, Sata Kyouya. Unfortunately for her, he´s in her school and, on top of that, he´s known as the prince of class whatever. This turn of events forces Erika to explain everything to him and the episode concludes in Kyoya being a sick bastard, Erika being his dog and the backstabbing bitches being backstabbing bitches. Rejoice.
Despite my somewhat negative recap of the series, I am guilty to admit that I sorta enjoyed it. Sure, as I said, it´ll probably get really stupid and hey, this episode was stupid already (He did it all…for me?) but eh, whatever. Personally I wouldn´t debut my studio with such a cliché shoujo like this, but to each their own I guess.
Conclusion: Don´t be friends with the girls who wear make-up.
Will I blog it? Probably.
Will I watch it? To the end.
