While these guys are probably the same people thinking meninism is an actual thing and the same guys claiming feminism opresses the man, after only two chapters of the semibiographical manga, Himozairu, has been released, the story about a group of men looking to better their chances in love by teaching themselves some basic domestic skills got suspended for, well, being derogatory towards men.
In the same magazine that publishes josei hits such as Princess Jellyfish, mangaka Akiko Higashimura says “I cannot continue with my creation without facing up to public opinion, […] I will take time to re-examine the plot and resume the serial after I am fully ready.”
Because naturally, in a seas full of women being Akikosexualized, dumbed down and given a secondary role in a story, a manga about people learning some basic dishwashing tips and tricks is, obviously, incredibly derogatory, offensive and no man should ever feel this victimized over a piece of fiction written by a woman. Gosh, you must be a gross fat basement dwelling man hating feminist if you think otherwise.
Jokes aside, this is all kinds of ridiculous, and Higashimura should´ve just taken the piss out of these comments. Of course I haven´t read the manga, but if we´re going to be pulling out stories that step on some toes then half of our seasonal anime would be gone lost and forgotten. I´m sad over the fact that she gave in to these comments, all probably made by the exact guys she´s talking about. I´m not gonna preach though, both men and women should know the basic household chores, both men and women should be the center of comedy, because neither gender has the right to decide jack shit over a piece of fiction. If women cried over Monster Musume we´d get our asses handed to us, now I just feel sorry for the mangaka.
