This year´s fifth issue of the bi-monthly magazine Jump Next announced that a sequel to Kuroko No Basket will come in December. Set after the ´moving´ finale which was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump.
Honestly, I´m not surprised. Kuroko No Basket is just too big of a money maker to just call quits like this without milking it some more. Personally, I don´t read the manga – although I´m a big fan of the anime – but I´ve been told that the manga ends on a very weird note, so, considering that, maybe this is for the best.
On the other hand, I admire mangakas, writers and creators in general a lot more when they let their popular franchise die out in it´s natural pace. But again, since I haven`t actually read the manga, I wouldn´t know.
While I´m on the topic, I want to point out that this sequel will be bi-monthly, meaning it comes out once every two months. Yeah. Who knows, maybe Fujimaki will launch another manga while still having enough time to draw this sequel? Only time will tell, huh.
