BL Manga Dokyuusei Gets Anime.

Asumiko Nakamura´s iconic Dokyuusei manga has been green-lit to get an adaptation by A1-Pictures, with Shouko Nakamura (Penguindrum and Kill la Kill episode director) as director. Date, format and additional details have not been announced.

You guys, you don´t even know how ecstatic I am over this, while I haven´t read the Dokyuusei manga (yet) it seems completely up my alley, in a Seven Days and a Blue Sky Complex kind of tranquile way.

As for the format, judging by the drop dead gorgeous art of trailer and lenght of the manga, I think it´s more likely to be a movie than a series, unless they decide to adapt the sequel, and the sequel of the sequel.

One way or another, and wheter you like Dokyuusei or not, it´s still pretty awesome for the yaoi genre to get more and more attention by the bigger studios as of late, so, hey, count me in.

The story begins during music class before the chorus festival, when male student Hikaru Kusakabe notices that the bespectacled honor student Rihito Sajo is not singing. Although he thinks that Rihito just doesn’t like singing, he finds him practicing alone in the classroom after school. Without even thinking, Hikaru calls out to him.
