In somewhat hilarious news, the infamous Ace Attorney game has been list to get an anime adaptation set for April, produced by A1 Pictures – Ayumu Watanabe (Space Brothers, If Her Flag Breaks and the Doraemon movies) will be directing the series, while Atsuhiro Tomioka (Pokemon XY, Trinty Blood) will write it and Kaoru Wada (Inuyasha, Princess Tutu) will compose the music.
Alright, personally I had to re–read the article a few times, because I found it pretty damn funny that this is getting adapted. I´ve never touched the game with a stick in the dark, but being the internet society–excluded dweller I am I´ve heard my fair share of what this is; and I got the impression it´s just Meme: The Game. I´ll be proper dissapointed if it´s not actually Meme: The Game, and looking up screenshots had me dazed and confused and very reminiscent of the flat games back in the Gameboy days with blocks for human shapes and a little more colour.
Another thing that caught my attention is the people working on it; most, if not all, more or less best known for kiddy shows like Doraemon and Pokemon, plus the timeslot is 17:30, which is really early compared to most of the stuff we watch – y´all will have to help me out on this one and tell me what the target audience of the game is, I wouldn´t know.
In any case, I laughed with this, and I´ll probably give it a watch; will it be episodic or does it have a storyline? is it just people talking or is there some sort of action? what is the hype of the game about? We´ll find out.
Edit: Just found out the voice cast of the game will change for the anime, and Yuuki Kaji (Eren from Shingeki no Kyojin and pretty much every adolescent anime boy ever) will play the iconic Phoenix Wright. Aight.
