A Look Into the Spring 2016 Season (Part 2) – We Love Little Boys Anonymous.

Normally I´d try to make the introduction to these kind of posts a little more proper. But frankly I don´t even care anymore. A shit ton of anime is coming out, you can read the first part of my season preview, neatly titled “WIT will pay your tuition, Bones will pay your rent” here. You should probably watch Joker Game, Sakamoto Desu Ga, Boku no Hero Academia and that new WIT show if you´re basic, and Dressing Little Boys in Maid Outfits; This is why America hates us and Kissing Little Boys As an Adult; The Animation if you want to go to jail. Bye.

Studio: Diomedea (Skull Man, Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?, Kantai Collection)
Director: Tsutomu Mizushima (Another, xxxxHolic, Prison School, Shirobako, a whole bunch of good shit)
Will I watch:

Not gonna lie, I really wanted to tell y´all that this might be the show I´m most looking forward to, but then I pressed play to the trailer and I instantly feel like I´m watching a poundshop Assassination Classroom, or, like, Assassination Bus. I really, really want this to be something different, and the director is competent enough for it, plus Diomedea has proved that they can do shows that are a little out there like Skull Man. I wanted to hype this up, but I´ll give it a careful recommendation until it actually airs. I´m rooting for ya.

And You Thought There Is Never A Girl Online?

Studio: Project No.9 (Lately My Little Sister Has Been Unusual, Shoujotachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu)
Director: Shinsuke Yanagi (Momo Kyun Sword)
Will I watch:

This seasons entry to the annual “Anime Title That´s Actually A Long Question” competition is “And You Thought There is Never A Girl Online”, which is its actual translation, but doesn´t make a whole lot of sense in my head. If there´s anything to go by, Project No.9 has successfully made standard shows stand out for better or worse, examples being the mentioned. Shoujotachi is great though, and the sister one controversial. With a bit of luck this might be a little of both and it might not even be bad. I still won´t watch it. Probably.

Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

Studio: Whitefox (Akame ga Kill, Jormungand, Steins Gate)
Director: Masaharu Watanabe (Wakaba Girl)
Will I watch: bye.

Cheers to my favourite studio ever, creating all the shows everybody gassed up and I fucking hated. Honestly, Akame ga Kill was hilarious, Jormungad a tragic rip-off of to Black Lagoon, and Steins;Gate a hype machine that I will never, ever understand. Their animation quality might be some of the worst I´ve ever seen, and all in all, Whitefox and I just can´t seem to get along, thank god we aren´t dating. With that in mind, I have nothing to say about this apart from “it´s just not made for me” and “I don´t understand how it can be made for anyone, period.” But hey, respect.

Sakamoto desu ga?

Studio: Studio DEEN (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Junjou Romantica, Fruits Basket)
Director: Shinji Takamatsu (Danshi koukou
Will I watch: yes.

I will defend DEEN till the day I die for the shit they get, but I won´t lie and say I wasn´t just a little dissapointed when I heard that Sakamoto Desu ga, a manga I´ve read and loved, is getting adapted by them. Because Sakamoto Desu ga could´ve been the new Prison School if it got better animation, and would´ve been a total hit if it was by Madhouse, because they´re capable of making every moment of this series epic, which is exactly where its comedy is. So it definitely won´t be what it could have been. But it´ll still, at the very least, be entertaining. Keep an eye on this one.

Sansha Sanyou

Studio: DogaKobo (Plastic Memories, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun)
Director: Yasushiro Kimura (Nothing)
Will I watch: No but I might kill myself.

Every passing season DogaKobo proves to me that Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun was just a lucky strike and a diamond in the swimming pool of bullshit they´ve been producing ever since – I can just hope they don´t have the funds to make any more cute girl drug rehab shows and forgettable clusterfucks so they can hurry up and give us all what we really want, which is like, two more seasons of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun.

Seisen Cerberus: Ryuukoku no Fatalité

Studio: Bridge (Crazy hits like Nobunagun and Devil Survivor 2)
Director: Nobuhiro Kondou (Nobunagun, some Keroro episodes)
Will I watch: I love death and dying.

Frankly, I saw that this was the same studio as Nobunagun and I stopped reading.

Shounen Maid

Studio: 8bit (Absolute Duo, Grisaia, Walkure Romanze, a whole bunch of ecchi shows)
Director: Yuusuke Yamamoto (B Gata H Kei, Welcome to the NHK)
Will I watch: Maybe.

8Bit seems to be fed up with tits and cute girls with magic and decide to try their luck with fake tits and cute girls without magic. In other words, they also seem to be fighting for the “potentially the creepiest show of the season” title, for which you can win a trip to jail with guaranteed milk and bread for dinner. In all honesty though, I just think it´s a funny contrast to their other shows, and I do have a bit of faith in director Yuusuke Yamamoto who´s actually pretty decent – I won´t expect much from it, but I´m sure it could´ve been so, so much worse if it was put in anyone else´s hands.

Sousei no Onmyouji

Studio: Studio Pierrot (Tokyo Ghoul, Akatsuki no Yona, Naruto, Bleach)
Director: Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona movies)
Will I watch: bye.

I thought this trailer had a lit soundtrack, but then I realized I just had spotify on in the background. This looks like a discount Akame ga Kill and really, that says a lot seeing how tragically cheap that show was. Nothing in the trailer, studio or director tickles my interest at all, rather, it does the total opposite and I have no time or patience to take anymore of Pierrots bullshit. So I´m skipping. So should you. And people still say DEEN is the worst studio around. Fuck y´all.

Super Lovers

Studio: DEEN (Junjou Romantica, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Shouwa Genroku)
Director: Shinji Ishihara (Log Horizon)
Will I watch: Yes and I hate myself.

Nevermind. I hate DEEN also anime and if this show were a person, they´d vote for Donald Trump.

Sword Gai

Studio: DLE (Thermae Romae, the most irrelevant shows ever)
Director: –
Will I watch: I´m tired.

Yall I really have no energy in my bones I´m on my last school semester.

Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge

Studio: Silver Link
Director: Shinya Kawatsura (Non Non Byori)
Will I watch: I don´t have the damn time.

It´s probably okay.

Studio: I.
Director: Relate.
Will I watch: To the title.

Dislike this post I dare you.
