A Look In The Fall 2015 Anime Season; Bondage, Lesbians And Monogatari. [Part 2]

53

The fall season of 2015 brings back every hipster art hoes favourite anime to suck on Monogatari is here to stay for another twelve weeks with  confusing incest and uncomfortable frames with pretty colours and occasional bursts of fabulous animation. Unfortunately for the people who aren´t all that into 24 minutes of people talking shit, there´s not really much in the second half of the chart apart from lesbians and sequels literally no one is looking forward to.

Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen

The second cour of Owari no Seraph is finally here. I enjoyed the first season way more than I ever expected to enjoy it it´s not even doing something special or especially good, but it´s just very fun to watch and brings me back to the days where I fangirled over pretty much anything with bromance without really being so bitter to criticise a show for its little faults. Owari no Seraph has a lot of that, but it´s just balls of angsty fun and I´m glad it´s here to stay for another twelve weeks.

Owarimonogatari

Monogatari is that drunk aunty you like seeing every once in a while but will get annoying when she overstays her visit, take her in small tablets and doses. Monogatari, with this season, will count 75 whole episodes, that´s fucking insane when you sit down and realize it´s literally just an anime of people talking about nothing with some artsy fanservice. Akiyuki Shinbo prints money.

Of course I´ll watch Monogatari, I got on the horse before it got too confusing to pick up, I like it a lot, I really do.

Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan

Here´s Silver Links entry in the “guy with a nice haircut ends up in a magical school as an underdog but gets all the rainbow hair coloured hoes anyway” genre. Honestly, if you´re into that ish, this one looks half bearable, or at least it doesn´t look like it´ll be too pretentious or heavy on trying to be something much more than just another ecchi animu aimed at adolescent boys. I don´t care. I don´t think the staff cares either.

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCOU7Tvx0po

Unlike the previous anime, Sakurako san seems to be one of the more ambitious projects of the season. Brought to you by Troyca the guys responsible for Aldnoah.Zero the staff itself have done nothing noteworthy or simply nothing at all, however, the premise is enough for it to stand out from the crowd, whether it´ll actually be something noteworthy or not is a wild guess. Personally, I don´t think it´ll be all that, but I´ll give a few episodes and see how it goes.

Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzz5R4h_YL8

So from what I gather this is basically here for two purposes, one is to take the piss out of the show itself, the other is to give the hungry fans some dry bread to suck on for the second season. My only question is, is this really going to be a full lenght show? not a five minute short? the latter makes so much more sense, because I don´t think a lot people can handle chibis talking shit for 24 episodes, once a week. Whatever it is they´re gonna do, I´ll probably watch it for the heck of it, I loved Attack on Titan as much as the next person, and although I´m no die hard fan, I´ll take this. If it´s any longer than 10 weekly minutes I´ll probably drop it.

Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha Burst

The only thing that´s gonna burst here is  the libido of these adolescent boys watching the second season of this show. I can appreciate my male oriented ecchi once every blue moon. I enjoyed Highschool DxD for what it was and Air Gear was cool I skipped out on the first season of this though, my friend watched it and said it was a bit over the top but he loved it, but eh.

Star Mu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0eqLBnno9k

While I´m not too familiar with the ecchi genre, I´m definitely a slut for shows with lots of bromance in it. Though this has been declining in the past two years or so, mainly because these shows are really, really boring. Another fun fact about me is that I´m absolute Kpop trash. Star Mu seems be going for a male idol show a lá Shonen Hollywood, but a little less realistic and to be focusing a little more on the female estrogens. I´ll give this a try, I don´t think I´ll like it. It looks bland.

Subete ga F ni Naru: The Perfect Insider

If I had to gamble and put my money on a potential dark horse, Subete ga F ni Naru would be it. I feel like this has what it takes to be something special, something different and daring and strange  first of all it´s adapted from an actual novel, not a light novel. Secondly the drama has some BDSM themes going on, so the base is definitely there, the big thing that concerns me is the staff and studio. A1 is not known for breaking the mold, and if anything the director Mamoru Kanbe, responsible for Elfen Lied and Denpa Teki na Kanojo, is a master in bullshit drama. I want to believe in it, but I just don´t have any faith in this combination. Regardless, I´ll just hope it doesn´t become a second Game of Laplace.

Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuvNKEaYgN8

I´ve lost count of the anime that have the exact same description with different names. Again, I don´t understand how people can gobble these shows up, they´re all literally carbon copies of each other with the same walking talking archytypes. I watched Mahouka out of my love for Madhouse and it was the worst decision of my life and I want my six hours of bullshit back.

Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfid_5k68n0

Here´s to more spinoffs of shows everyone has already long since forgotten. Utawarerumono seems like a cute, harmless show. I won´t pretend like I´ll even try to watch it though, because I just know that I´ll lose track and forget about it at some point. If you have an extra slot in your anime season list though, I think Utawareromono might be a nice balance. It feels old school and like something that would come out in 2006.

Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5aOq5sPg_Q

If you´re gonna be ecchi, you might aswell throw your hands in the air and be ridiculous about it. Arms are the masters of this craft and, honestly, I have a newfound respect for them simply for doing whatever they want. They describe this to be a sexy battle anime, and that´s exactly what it is. The preview is completely unapolagetic about it, the lesbian romance is in your face and hell, I think I might just watch it for the hell of it, because at least it´s something different, doesn´t hide its sexuality under layers of tsunderes and BS plot. Who knows, I appreciate how in your face it is.

Everything Else:

World Trigger: Isekai Kara no Toubousha:
Surprised this trash is getting so many episodes. It lost me with its cookie cutter animation.
Hacka Doll: The Animation:
This is Trigger, right? I´ll probably watch it.
Kowabon:
I´m very interested. I´m not even joking.
High☆Speed!: Free! Starting Days:
As certified Free! trash, of course I´m going to be all over this.
