We all have those shows that we are somewhat biased about, right? More often than not, they´re the gateway shows that introduced us to this crazy little anime world, back then when we were blind enough that we didn´t see the obvious faults in our beloved shows. For me, the shows I´m most biased about are, without a doubt, Death Note, Code Geass, Ouran Host Club and Clannad, they´re pretty standard choices, if I do say so myself.
Inbetween those anime was Kuroshitsuji, or Black Butler: A series that I loved so much to the point that I´m buying the manga (which is just fifty times better than the anime, at least) but, after re-watching the first season a few years and a few better anime later, I was shocked. Black Butler, is pretty crap.
Why doesn´t it simply follow the manga? why does it look so awkward? why is it so unnecessarily edgy? Why?
Scandalized, I decided to forget all about this show and went on with my life as usual. Then, in Summr 2014, Kuroshitsuji: Book Of Circus came out and, with that, my bias over a show about a demon butler, a shota and other pretty-looking characters came back, too.
Book Of Circus is hands down my favourite arc in the entire Kuroshitsuji manga, and for once, A-1 got it right. Book Of Circus is beautiful, for both former fans and new fans. It made me cry and laugh in 10 small episodes. Thank you, Kuroshitsuji, hopefully Book Of Murder will be just as good.
